I bought this after seeing it mentioned on GeekBrief with Cali Lewis. I live in Canada and had to have to have it shipped to a friend in Buffalo in order to get it. The company claims it can't be used here but that's bunk. Toronto is in the same plant hardiness zone as Buffalo and Rochester (I looked it up). We certainly have less extreme weather than Buffalo, so if they can use it so can we.
From the beginning the water meter never worked. The first few weeks we had the flower outside taking measurements it seemed like monsoon weather; it was hot and rained for days. The water sensor never picked up a drop. At least we had temperature and sunlight data. We got excellent information to help us plan where to put various plants. When talked with nursery staff and they asked how much sun we had we knew exactly.
When winter came we brought the Easybloom inside for the season. I brought it out again in June to check a few new spots we might out some new plants in (and adjust for now missing trees). The Easybloom seems to shut down after ten minutes and not go back on again. I was ticked after a week to find out it didn't collect any data and was "off". I changed batteries, cleaned it up, did anything I could to get it to work again but no go. It's now useless to us. It get's two stars for the data it did provide us with for one summer. This would be an excellent product if it worked.

The EasyBloom Plant Sensor has come in quite handy for making (or breaking) some of my gardening decisions. When I use recommend mode, it will tell me what kind of water levels, sun exposure, and temperatures that area is getting. When I review these results, I can also click on links to view other plants that would grow well in the environment it found.
The monitor mode gives you suggestions to improve the growth of whatever plant you've told it is growing there, prior to it's data collection. I used this feature at the end of winter, even though it was too cold to actually plant anything, just to see what it would say if it really thought I was. I told it I was planting peas, and it gave great feedback. It didn't just tell me the soil was too wet, it gave me tips on how to improve the moisture levels of my soil - by using it's water monitoring feature or what to use in my soil to encourage drainage. For temperature, it gave me suggestions of other locations I could plant where the sunlight would be warmer.
I haven't used the water monitoring feature yet.
